Located in the Short Center Compound on Indira Marg, this place is right in the thick of things in Jamnagar. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to know where you’re going to find the entrance. The compound stays pretty busy with people coming and going for different reasons. Shree Halari Visha Oshwal Vidyalay is just one part of this neighborhood. We’ve got a mix of older staff and some newer faces, but everyone pretty much knows the routine by now. The windows look out over the street, so you can hear the rickshaws and the birds outside while you're working. Some of the rooms get a lot of dust because of the wind coming off the coast, so cleaning is a never-ending job here. We have a small space for people to sit and wait, though the chairs aren't the most comfortable ones you've ever sat in. The floors are made of that old grey stone that’s gone smooth from people walking on it for decades. We don't really do anything for show; we just try to keep the lights on and the schedules on time. Jamnagar is a place where people appreciate things being straightforward, and that’s how we run this building. Usually, by five o’clock, we’re locking up and heading out. It’s a steady kind of life, and the 361001 area is a good place to be based if you like being near the center.
