Paresh Engg. Works

Our shop, Paresh Engg. Works, is tucked away in the Shanker Tekri Udyognagar area. We are right near the Pipaliya Hanuman Chowk, which is a busy spot. If you find Jay Ambe Niketan, you are basically there. We spend most of our time at the workbench or over the lathes. It’s a typical engineering setup with oil on the floor and tools everywhere. We do a lot of small repairs and custom metal parts for people who come in from around the neighborhood. Sometimes someone needs a piece welded or a part machined because they can't find a replacement in the market. We don't have a big front desk or a receptionist, so you usually just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a torch at the moment. It gets hot in here during the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We've been in this spot for a good while, and most of the other shop owners nearby know us. It’s not a quiet job, there is always some grinding or hammering happening, but that's how it goes in a place like this. We just try to make things that fit right and last a decent amount of time. It's a simple living, working with our hands and making sure the machines are calibrated properly for whatever job comes through the door next. We're just regular people trying to do good work.
