Geeta Machine Tools Private Limited operates out of New Bharat Engineering Works on Pandit Nehru Marg. It’s a well-known street around here, and we’ve been part of the landscape for quite a while. Our daily life is centered around the machine tools and the metalwork we do. The shop floor is usually buzzing with the sound of lathes and grinders. We don't really have a corporate culture or anything like that. It’s more about the guys knowing their craft and getting the measurements right. Sometimes the drawings we get are a bit messy, but we figure them out. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the different work stations. It’s a practical environment where we value getting the job done over talking about it. There is a specific smell of cutting oil and cold steel that stays with you even after you go home. Our neighbors at the other engineering works are good people, and we often borrow a tool or a spare part from each other when we're in a pinch. It’s a community of makers more than anything else. We don't have a PR team to write this stuff for us. The office is just a small room in the corner where we keep the records. We’re not looking to win any awards for our decor. We just want the tools we make to work like they’re supposed to. When the day ends, we lock up and head home to our families.
