Our school is located right on the Rajkot Highway in Dhrol, which means there is always a bit of a breeze and the sound of trucks in the distance. Being out here in the Jamnagar district, we get a mix of students from the town and some who come in from the smaller villages nearby. The school building is a simple structure that stands out against the flat landscape. We have a large iron gate that stays open during the morning rush and then closes once the lessons begin. Inside, it’s all very functional. The floors are stone, and the walls are painted a simple color that doesn't show the dirt too much. We have a small area where we grow a few plants, though it’s hard to keep them green when the weather gets really dry. The teachers here are used to the highway life and the pace of the town. During the break, the kids gather in the yard to eat their rotis and talk. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a good kind of busy. We don't have many modern gadgets; we mostly rely on books, blackboards, and a lot of talking. It’s the kind of school where everyone knows everyone else’s name. We just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure the kids are ready for their tests. It is hard work but we are used to it.
