Late Namdar Thakor Saheb Shri Chandrasinhji High School

That’s a very long name for a school, isn’t it? Most of us just call it the high school on Jamnagar Road. We are located right there in Dhrol, and the road is usually busy with people traveling between the bigger cities. Being named after Late Namdar Thakor Saheb Shri Chandrasinhji gives the place a bit of a historical feel, even if the building itself is just a regular school building. It’s a solid place, built to last. We have a lot of students coming in from the nearby areas because we are right on the main road, making it easy for buses to stop nearby. The classrooms are wide and the benches are the old-fashioned kind made of heavy wood. They’ve been carved into by students over the years, I’m sure. We don’t have a lot of the fancy extras that new schools have these days. There’s no cafeteria, just a place where kids eat the lunches they brought from home. It’s a bit noisy because of the Jamnagar Road traffic, but you stop noticing the trucks after a while. We’re just here to do a job, which is teaching the local kids. We don’t have a PR department or a mission statement on the wall. We just show up, ring the bell, and start the day’s work like everyone else in town. It isn't much to look at, but it has been home to many students.
