You can find us at House Number 581, right near the Sultanpura main stop in Janipur. Being in Jammu, we deal with the seasonal changes and the local pace of life every single day. We are a house building cooperative, which means things are a bit different than a standard private company. It’s more about the people in the neighborhood who are trying to get their housing situations sorted out. The office is basically just a front room with some wooden tables and a lot of old ledgers. We don't use much software; most of our records are still kept in big physical books that we update by hand. It feels more reliable to have it on paper. People stop by throughout the day to ask about their plots or to pay their dues. We know most of the families who come through the door by their first names. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving during the hotter months. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. It’s slow work sometimes, waiting for approvals or paperwork to clear through the government offices, but we just keep at it. There aren't any fancy brochures or sales pitches here. If you need to build a house or check on your membership, you just come in, sit down, and we talk.
