You can find Maa Saraswati Computers on the second floor of 660-A along Apsara Road in Gandhi Nagar. Being on the second floor means we get a little less noise from the street, which is good when you’re trying to concentrate on a screen. The stairs up can be a bit steep, but once you’re here, it’s a decent space. We have rows of computers and chairs that have been around for a few years. It’s not the newest tech lab in the world, but everything works and that’s what matters for learning. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting things or helping someone figure out a piece of software. It’s a hands-on kind of place. Apsara Road is always busy, so there’s plenty of life right outside our windows. We started this because we wanted a place where local people could come and get comfortable with technology without it being intimidating. The walls are a bit plain, and we might have some cables running across the floor in the corners, but it’s a real workshop. We aren't a big corporate training center. We’re just a local computer spot in Jammu. Most of our day is spent sitting with students and looking at monitors. It’s quiet work mostly, interrupted by the occasional printer humming or someone asking a question. We’ve been in this building for some time and it feels like home to us now. We just take it one day at a time here.
