Our branch is tucked away in Al-Noor Colony, right in the Chanapora area of Srinagar. If you know the neighborhood, we are at number 12. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main city center, which we actually prefer. Most of the people coming in are neighbors or folks who live just a few streets over. We handle the usual stuff like deposits and helping people with their accounts. The office is pretty simple, nothing too flashy. We have a few desks and some chairs for people to wait. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on Monday mornings, but usually, it is a steady pace. We know a lot of the faces that walk through the door. It feels more like a community spot than a big cold institution. My desk is near the front, so I see everyone coming in. We keep a pot of tea going most of the time. The internet goes out occasionally, which is frustrating for everyone, but we just wait it out and talk. It’s a 190 015 zip code area, so it’s easy for locals to find us. We don't have a giant sign or anything, just the usual name on the door. It’s just us here, a small team trying to keep the paperwork moving and the money safe for the people around here. It's straightforward work and we like being in this part of Srinagar.
