Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd.

Our office is located at D.N. Singh’s house, which is House Number 192 in the Manas Vihar Enclave. It’s in the Indira Nagar area of Lucknow. Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. is a big name, but this office is very much a local operation. We have maps of various sites across Uttar Pradesh pinned to the walls. There are usually a few pairs of muddy boots near the entrance because the guys are always coming back from construction sites. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but busy. We don’t have a lot of formal rules about how the desks should look, so there are piles of paper and coffee mugs everywhere. Indira Nagar is a nice enough area, and we are tucked away from the main traffic noise. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with labor contractors and checking on material deliveries like steel and cement. Sometimes the local power supply is a bit shaky, so we have a generator that kicks in with a loud thud when the lights go out. We don’t have a fancy board room, we just sit around a big wooden table to discuss the project timelines and budgets. It’s a place where real work happens without much fuss. We like being in Lucknow, even with the summer heat, because the local tea is good. It’s just a group of builders and clerks making sure the projects stay on track, one day at a time, for years.
