We operate Watkins Mayor & Co. Foundary Works from the Mayor Mansion on Ladowali Road. It's a building with a lot of history to it. You can tell just by looking at the old walls and the way it's built. We've been doing foundry work here for a long time. It's hot and heavy work, not the kind of thing you do if you want to stay clean all day. But we like it. There's something satisfying about the whole process. Ladowali Road is a familiar place for us. We know the people who walk past every day. Our name, Watkins Mayor & Co., is pretty well known in this specific trade around here. We don't have a fancy website or do much advertising at all. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people who have known the foundry for decades. The shop floor is where most of the action is. We spend our days there, making sure the molds are right and the metal is poured correctly. It's a skill that takes a long time to learn properly. Most of our guys have been at it for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do the work well and keep the furnace going. It's a simple, honest way to spend the day.
