The Krishna American Oil Co.

The Krishna American Oil Co. is situated on Nehru Garden Road, right opposite the Fentunganj Mandi. Being across from the mandi means there is always something going on, with carts and trucks moving at all hours. Our building is an older one and it’s seen a lot of years. We deal with oils and lubricants, so there is always that specific smell in the air around our place. It’s a family-run kind of setup, and we’ve been here longer than most of the other shops on this road. We don’t have a website or a social media page because we never really felt the need for one. People know where we are and they just walk in when they need something for their engines or machines. The front area is where we keep the barrels and the counter where we talk to customers. Behind that, we have some storage space that is usually packed to the ceiling. We spend our days filling orders and talking to the regulars who come by. It isn't a high-tech operation; we still do a lot of things by hand and keep our records in big books. The traffic on Nehru Garden Road can be a nightmare, but it brings people past our door. We just focus on giving people what they ask for and staying open during the usual hours. It’s a simple business and we like it that way.
