Sts World School

Down in Phillaur, near Jalandhar, you will find Sts World School. It is right there in the Punjab countryside, where the air feels a bit different than in the big cities. The school sits on a piece of land that we try to keep tidy, though the wind usually has other plans. It is a local spot where most of us know each other by name. We do not have any fancy titles or complicated systems here. We just show up, open the doors, and get to work. The building is big enough for the kids we have, and we are always looking at what needs a fresh coat of paint or a new light bulb. Jalandhar is a busy district, but Phillaur has its own slower pace. Most mornings start with the sound of cycles and scooters pulling up to the entrance. We do not put on a show for anyone. It is just a place for learning. The hallway walls are covered with whatever the students made last week. Sometimes it is a bit messy, but that is just life with a few hundred kids around. We deal with the rain when it pours and the heat when it gets dry. The staff sits together during the breaks and talks about the same things everyone else does. We are not trying to be the biggest school around; we just want to be a reliable one for the families living nearby.
