Lyallpur Khalsa Girls High School

This school is located right in the Surajganj area on Nakoder Road. If you know Jalandhar City at all, you know how busy this part of town gets. Lyallpur Khalsa Girls High School has been part of this neighborhood for a long while now. The building is solid and has that old-school feel that you don't see much in newer constructions. Every morning, the street outside is full of girls arriving for their classes. We don't have a giant campus with a stadium, but we have enough space for the girls to study and move around. The classrooms have high ceilings and the fans hum all day during the summer months. It gets pretty loud when the bell rings for break time. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place for learning and getting through the syllabus. The staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and tea cups, which is how we like it. Being on Nakoder Road means we are easy to find, though parking can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We just focus on the day-to-day stuff, making sure the lessons are done and the girls are safe. It’s a plain, honest school where the focus is on the students who live around this part of Jalandhar. We’ve seen many groups of girls graduate and move on from here over the years, and that’s what keeps the place going day after day.
