Tagore Model Sr. Sec School

You can find Tagore Model Sr. Sec School over in Amardas Colony. We are located in Nakodar, which is part of the Jalandhar - 144040 district. It’s a residential sort of area, so we have houses all around us. The school fits right into the neighborhood. We have students coming in from all the nearby streets every morning. It gets quite busy in the colony when school starts and ends. We have a couple of buildings that make up the school. They aren't new, but they’ve been kept up as well as we can manage. There is a small gate at the entrance where we usually stand to watch people come in. Inside, the rooms are filled with desks and old cupboards full of books. We don't have a huge staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One day you might be teaching and the next you’re helping fix a fence. Nakodar is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We see the parents at the grocery store or the bus stop. The school doesn't have a lot of flashy stuff. We just have the basics that are needed for a secondary school. There’s always a bit of noise from the kids playing or the traffic nearby. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It’s a local school for the local kids.
