S.K. Vegetarian Dhabha

We’ve been here at 56 Cool road for a good while now. It’s right near the All India Radio Station in Jalandhar City, which most people around here know pretty well. Our place, S.K. Vegetarian Dhabha, isn’t anything fancy to look at, but we stay busy enough. The morning starts early with getting the stove going and chopping up vegetables for the day. There’s always a lot of cleaning to do before anyone even walks in. People usually find us because they’re working nearby or just passing through this part of the city. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look perfect. It's mostly just about getting the food onto the plates and making sure there's enough for everyone who shows up. You can hear the traffic from Cool road most of the time, and it gets quite loud during the rush hours. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, but we’re here regardless. We handle a lot of different pots and pans throughout the day, and by the evening, everyone is usually pretty tired. There isn't a big team, just a few of us making sure things don't fall apart. It’s a simple routine that we’ve stuck to for years. No one here is trying to win awards or anything like that. We just open the doors, cook what needs cooking, and close up when the day is done. It’s just how things go at the dhabha.
