Modern Tools (India) is based in Manjit Nagar, over in Basti Sheikh. If you know the area, you know it’s a place where people actually work for a living. Our shop is tucked in among a lot of other small businesses and homes. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze on the street sometimes, especially when we have deliveries arriving. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and the locals all know where we are. We work with different kinds of tools, mostly things for other tradespeople to use. The inside of the building is mostly storage and workbenches. It’s not a showroom; it’s a workspace. We don’t wear suits or sit in fancy chairs. Most of the time, our hands are a bit dirty from whatever we’re fixing or checking. We just try to be useful to the people who come in. There’s no big corporate office telling us what to do. We just open up in the morning, check what needs doing, and get started. Sometimes it’s slow and we just clean up the shop, and other times it’s so busy we can barely keep up. That’s just the way it goes here in Basti Sheikh. We appreciate the people who have been coming to us for years. It’s a simple life, focused on doing the job right without any extra fluff. We don't need any big awards, just the knowledge that our tools are being used.
