You can find Diamond Rubber Industries over on Kapurthala Road. We are situated right in Basti Bawa Khel. It's an old area and it stays pretty noisy most of the day with all the traffic passing by. We have been making rubber parts for quite some time. The smell of raw rubber is something you just get used to after working here for a week. It’s pretty strong when the machines are heating up. We handle a lot of different molds and presses. Some days it feels like we are just moving heavy blocks of material from one side of the room to the other. It’s physical work. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website. Mostly, people just drop by the gate or call us because they need specific rubber components for their machinery. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend half a day fixing a hydraulic leak or replacing a belt. That’s just how it goes in a factory setting. We have a few guys who have been here for years and they know exactly how long each part needs to stay in the press without looking at a clock. It is not always perfect and sometimes the power cuts out, which messes up a whole batch. We just start over when that happens. We are just a local shop trying to get the orders out to the people who need them and keeping the presses moving.
