A & Z Exports International

A & Z Exports International is tucked away at E-J-88, which most people know as Tandon Cottage. It’s tucked behind the Raj Mahal Hotel near Milap Chowk. It’s actually a pretty quiet spot compared to the main road. We’ve got P.O. Box 34 for all the mail that comes in, though half the time the postman just walks it in anyway. The cottage has its quirks, like the door that sticks in the winter and the way the light hits the desks in the morning. We spend a lot of hours packing things up and checking the labels for the international shipments. There is always a roll of tape sitting somewhere and a stack of empty boxes waiting to be filled. It’s not like those modern offices with glass walls. It feels like a home that turned into a business over time. The staff knows where everything is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to an outsider. Sometimes we walk over to Milap Chowk for a quick snack or to see what’s happening in the market. The work is steady and repetitive, involving a lot of paperwork and tracking numbers. We don't have a big sign outside, so people usually look for the hotel first and then find us. It’s just a small group of us trying to stay organized. We make sure the shipments go out on time and then we lock up and head home to our families.
