M/S Sree Metaliks Limited

M/S Sree Metaliks Limited is out in Nalipur, which you get to via Balichandrapur in the Jajpur district of Orissa. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where all the work happens. The site is usually quite noisy with the sound of metal and machinery. We have a small office building on the grounds where we handle the administrative side of things. It’s a dusty place because of the nature of the industry. We wear heavy boots and spend a lot of time walking between the office and the production areas. There isn't much in the way of decoration here. The walls are mostly bare except for a few calendars and some safety notices. We focus on the metal products and making sure everything is moving according to the schedule. The heat from the furnace and the Orissa sun together can be a lot, so we drink plenty of water. We are a group of local workers and some staff who have moved here for the job. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just produce the metal and ship it out to where it needs to go. It’s tough work but it’s steady. We know the local villages around Nalipur and many of our guys come from there. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day to keep the production line moving.
