Finding us isn’t too hard if you know Chandpole Bazar. We are right at Chouti Choupar, up on the second floor of the Khanda building. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s quieter up here than down on the main street. Being near Sitaramji Temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers every day. The shop is full of silk and different fabrics piled high on the shelves. Sometimes the colors look different depending on the sunlight coming through the windows. We spend a lot of time unfolding cloth for people and then folding it back up neatly when they leave. It’s a lot of work on the hands. The market outside is always loud with rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the fabric. We’ve had some of these rolls for a week and others have been here longer, waiting for the right person to see them. It gets quite hot in the summer afternoons, so we usually have the fans going full speed. We don't do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People mostly come in because they were already in the bazaar or someone told them about our spot near the temple. It’s just a small family-run place where we sit on the floor and talk to whoever walks in. We drink a lot of tea while we work.
