Kamlesh Handicrafts

Our shop, Kamlesh Handicrafts, is located out on Sikar Road, right across from Hotel Apano Rajasthan. If you’re driving past the petrol pump in the New Rambagh area, you will see our sign. It gets quite dusty out here with all the trucks passing by, but we keep the doors open anyway. We spend most of our time working with different kinds of crafts and items that people like for their homes. There is usually a lot of sawdust or bits of material on the floor by the end of the day. It’s not a showroom where everything is perfect and untouchable. We want people to see how things are actually made. Sometimes we are short-handed, so things might take a bit longer, but we try to keep up. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so everyone chips in when it gets busy. We don't really do much advertising. Most people just find us because they saw us while getting fuel or staying at the hotel nearby. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoons, making it quite warm inside, but we have a fan that helps a bit. We just focus on making things that look decent and serve a purpose. It’s a simple life out here on the edge of the city, and we are happy with how things go. We like talking to the travelers who stop by for a quick look at what we have sitting out.
