Puppet House

Puppet House is located at 344 Raja Park in Gurunanakpura. We are pretty close to Parnami Mandir, which makes it easier for people to find us. This place is full of color and strings. We have puppets hanging from almost every bit of the ceiling and walls. Some are big, some are small, and they all have their own look. It’s a bit of a messy shop because there’s always thread, fabric scraps, and wood pieces lying around. We spend our time putting these things together or fixing up old ones. It’s a local tradition, and we just keep it going in our own way. People come in to look around, sometimes kids who get excited seeing all the characters. It’s not a quiet place, as there’s usually some music or the sound of someone working on a puppet. We don’t have a big corporate plan or anything. We just like making these things and seeing people take them home. Raja Park is a lively area, and being near the temple means there’s always people walking by. Some days we just sit by the door and watch the street while we work on a small head or a dress for a puppet. It’s a slow kind of work, but it keeps us busy enough. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of paint or cloth, but we just make do with what we have in the drawers.
