Vadilal Ice Cream

The shop is located in Gandhi Nagar over at Lalit Kunj. It is not a very big space but it fits everything we need to serve the local people. Most of our day is spent making sure the freezers stay cold because the summer heat here can be quite something. We see a lot of students and families walking past and many of them stop in for a quick stick or a cup. It is a quiet neighborhood for the most part except when school lets out. I usually sit near the door where there is a bit of a breeze. We keep the stock full so there is always enough for everyone who comes by. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late and we have to wait around to put everything away. It is just honest work and we have been doing it for a good amount of time now. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon but for now they are fine. We know most of the neighbors by their first names and we usually chat for a minute while they pick out their favorite flavor. There is no big secret to how we run things. We just show up every day and make sure people get what they want. It feels good to be a part of the daily routine for people in this part of Gandhi Nagar.
