Rajasthan Milk Food Products

Up here in the industrial area of Kangra, at H-1, 8 (A), things stay pretty steady. Rajasthan Milk Food Products has been operating out of this unit for quite a while. Being in an industrial zone means we have plenty of space, but it’s not exactly a scenic spot despite being in Kangra. The machines have their own rhythm, and you get used to the humming sound in the background. We have to keep everything very clean, so a lot of our time is spent washing down surfaces and checking the temperature. It’s cold inside some parts of the building and hot in others. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the records. We drink our tea in shifts because someone always needs to be watching the floor. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad, though the roads can get tricky when it rains hard. We get the milk delivered early, often while it’s still dark outside. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving things throughout the day. We don’t talk much about the company in a big way; it’s just where we go to work. We focus on the daily numbers and making sure the trucks leave when they are supposed to. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day.
