S.V Foods

Our place is Plot No.37 in Bapu Nagar. It is very easy to find because the Laxmi Mandir Cinema is right there on Tonk Road. When a movie finishes, the whole street gets filled with people, and some of them wander into our shop. We focus on food items and spices that people in the neighborhood need for their daily meals. S.V Foods is not a fancy place with air conditioning. We just have a few fans and some metal shelves against the walls. We keep the floor clean, but it's hard with so many people coming in and out. Most of our customers live in the nearby lanes of Bapu Nagar and have been buying from us for a long time. We know most of them by name. We don't have a big office or anything; the back of the shop is where we keep the extra stock and do the packing. Sometimes we have to move heavy boxes around, which is a bit of a workout. The smell of the shop is a mix of different grains and spices. It’s a nice smell, actually. We don't do any big promotions or sales. We just open up in the morning, sell what we have, and go home when the cinema's last show starts. It’s a steady routine that we have been following for years now. We usually take a break in the afternoon when it’s quiet.
