Soorashahi Golden Transport Co operates from 26 Sansar Chandra Road. We are very close to the Anaj Mandi, so there is always a lot of movement in this part of town. It gets really crowded with all the trucks and wooden carts, especially during the morning hours when the grain is being moved. Our office isn't very big and the walls are a bit faded, but it serves our needs just fine. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to drivers who are about to start a long trip across the state. There is almost always a pot of tea sitting in the corner. Managing a transport business involves a lot of waiting around and then suddenly everything happens at once. We keep our records in thick books on the desk. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit on the stools outside until it comes back on again. Being near the market means we get to see all kinds of people every day. It is a loud neighborhood but we have grown used to the sound of engines and people yelling. We handle the paperwork and make sure the trucks are loaded properly. It can be a bit of a messy business with all the road dust. We just do our work every day and stay until the last load is gone.
