About Shri Krishna Ghee Bhandar – Food & Beverages in Jaipur
Down in Gangouri Bazar, there is a small lane called Deenanath Ji Ki Gali, and that is where Shri Krishna Ghee Bhandar is. We have been sitting in this same spot for a long time. The main thing here is the ghee, of course. We get it in big containers and then move it into smaller tins or jars for the people who come to buy. It’s a very traditional setup. The floor is stone and the walls have been painted the same color for as long as I can remember. It always smells like butter and milk around here. Sometimes the cows even wander near the door. We don't do much advertising; mostly it’s just people who live nearby or their kids who have grown up and still come back. My hands are usually a bit oily by the end of the shift from handling the lids and the scoops. We try to keep things clean, but it’s a busy place with a lot of heavy lifting. When the festivals come around, we are here until very late at night because everyone needs ghee for their sweets. It gets quite hectic then, with people shouting orders and the narrow lane getting blocked by scooters. But usually, it’s a quiet routine. I sit on my wooden bench, wait for the regulars, and we talk about the weather or the price of milk. It’s just how we run things at Deenanath Ji Ki Gali. There is no website, just the shop.
