Our office is located at S-56 on Sikar Road, right around Road Number 14. Most of our days start quite early before the sun really gets a chance to heat up the asphalt outside. You can usually find a few of us sitting near the front entrance with a steel glass of tea while we wait for the first trucks to pull into the yard. The office itself isn't much to look at, just a practical room where we keep our files and the heavy logbooks. Sikar Road is always busy with traffic, so there is this constant background noise of engines and horns that we have all stopped noticing after so many years. It gets pretty dusty here, especially when the wind picks up in the summer, but that is just part of working in the transport line. We handle all sorts of different loads for people in the city and nearby towns. Most of the work involves shouting over the noise to talk to drivers and making sure everything is tied down properly before they head out. It is a lot of phone calls back and forth to check on locations. Sometimes the traffic at the toll booth causes delays, which makes the afternoon a bit stressful. We don't have a fancy lobby or big signs because we are usually too busy in the yard. Most of the staff has been here for years and we know the local roads better than anyone else. It’s just honest, daily work.
