Shanker Transport Corporation

Shanker Transport Corporation is right over on Sansar Chandra Road, not too far from the Anaj Mandi. If you know that area, you know how crowded it gets, especially when the trucks are coming in with the grain. We are at number 27. It’s a noisy spot, but it’s where all the action happens. We’ve been sitting in this office for years, watching the market change. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the desk is cluttered with old logbooks and papers. We don't have a website or anything like that; people usually just walk in or call us on the old landline. It gets dusty with all the bags of grain moving nearby. My uncle started this, and we just kept it going. Some days are slow, while others we can barely keep up with the phone ringing. We drink a lot of chai from the shop around the corner while we wait for deliveries. The traffic on SC Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get most things handled early. It's a rough and tumble business, nothing fancy about it. We just make sure the goods get to where they need to go without too much fuss. It's just a local office trying to stay busy in a busy part of town. We don't use big words or make big promises, we just show up and do the job every single day.
