You can find Shakti Maa Transport Co at the Loha Mandi Chouraha, which sits right on Vkia Road No 14 near the Ajmer Bypass. This is a very active part of the city because of the iron market nearby. There is always the sound of metal being moved and trucks honking as they try to navigate the intersection. Our office is right in the middle of all that action. It is a good spot for us because the bypass is so close, making it easy to get on the main highway without much trouble. The office itself is a bit cramped sometimes when everyone is in at once, but it works for what we need. We have a lot of ledgers and notebooks scattered around because things move fast here. Sometimes the wind picks up off the bypass and blows through the door, bringing in a bit of grit. We don't have a big sign or anything too flashy. Most people just know us by our location at the chouraha. We spend our mornings drinking tea and looking over the lists for the day. It is a lot of repetitive work, checking numbers and talking to drivers, but it is what we do. The evenings are usually the busiest when everyone is trying to finish up their loads before the sun goes down. It is a busy, dusty, and loud place, but it feels like home to us.
