Saras Parlor

You will find Saras Parlor right there at the Central Spine in Vidhyadhar Nagar. It is a busy spot, especially in the evenings when families come out for a walk. We are mostly known for the dairy products we keep in the big coolers. We get the milk delivery very early in the morning, often before the sun is even up, so we have to be here to move the crates inside. It is a small space, mostly just enough room for the refrigerators and a small counter where we keep the change. We sell a lot of curd, paneer, and ice cream when the weather gets hot. There isn't really anywhere to sit inside, so people usually just stand around on the pavement chatting while they have a cold drink or wait for their order. We don't have a big staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter. The floor gets a bit wet sometimes from the condensation on the bottles, and we are constantly wiping down the glass. We don't do any big promotions or sales. People just know we are the place to go when they run out of milk or want a quick snack. It is a simple business and we like it that way. Seeing the same neighbors every day makes the time go by quickly. We keep the lights on until late because there is always someone needing something last minute.
