If you have ever walked through Kishanpole Bazar, you know how tight the lanes can get. We are located at Mishar Raja Ji Ka Rasta, house number 289. Our shop is filled with the smell of fresh paper and printing ink all year round. It is a bit of a maze to find us if you are not used to these old city streets, but once you are here, you will see cards stacked up everywhere. Wedding season is our busiest time, and the whole place gets covered in scraps of paper and samples that people have been looking through. We have been doing this for a long time, following in the footsteps of those who were here before us. The walls are lined with different designs, from the simple ones to the more colorful ones that people like these days. It is noisy outside with the rickshaws and people shouting, but inside we just focus on getting the names and dates right on every card. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just part of living in the walled city. We drink a lot of chai to keep going during the long nights when there are too many orders to finish. It is not a glamorous job, but seeing families happy about their invitations makes the cramped space and the ink-stained fingers worth it. We just keep the machines running and wait for the next customer to walk through the door.
