Amma Handicrafts

Amma Handicrafts is located over at D-674 in Malviya Nagar, right near the Indian Overseas Bank. If you know that area, you know it gets pretty busy with people going in and out of the bank all day. We’ve been operating from this spot for a good while now. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or soft carpets. It’s a workshop where we actually make things. You’ll see scraps of fabric and bits of wood or whatever we are working with lying around on the tables. Our space is filled with the smell of glue and paint most mornings. We open up early and stay until the work is finished. People usually find us because they live nearby or they’re doing their banking next door. Being at D-674 means we are right in the middle of the local life here. Sometimes it gets loud with the traffic outside, but we just keep our heads down and work. We don't spend money on big ads or glossy brochures. We just do the handicrafts. Our shelves are mostly full of finished pieces waiting to go out to whoever bought them. It’s a simple life at Amma Handicrafts. We have a couple of benches for when people want to sit and talk about what they need. Malviya Nagar is a good spot for us. The Indian Overseas Bank is the best landmark to tell people when they get lost. We like the neighborhood.
