Aarti Handicrafts is based at 10-A Brahmpuri, inside Agrasen Colony. It is a quiet residential area, which makes our work a bit more peaceful. We have been running this small operation for several years. Our space is mostly used for storing and showing the different handcrafted items we collect. We have everything from hand-painted pots to carved wooden boxes and embroidered textiles. Most of these pieces come from workers who live in the surrounding districts. My father started this business, and I took over after learning everything from him. He taught me how to spot a real handmade piece versus something made in a factory. We don't have a big storefront with bright lights. It’s just a simple room with plenty of shelves. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to see what new things we have brought in. We don't spend money on marketing or brochures. Usually, if the work is good, people will find us eventually. The morning sun comes through the front door and lights up all the colors on the fabrics. That's my favorite time of day here. It can get a bit cluttered when we get a big delivery, and it takes us days to sort through it all. We just take our time and make sure everything is handled carefully. It’s a small, family-run place and we plan to keep it that way for a long time. There is something special about things made by hand.
