Rajendra Enterprises

Rajendra Enterprises is located just outside Gangapole Gate, near Sanghi Ji Ki Nasiya. It’s an old part of the city, and our shop reflects that. We’ve been here for a long time, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to get around to it. We sell a bit of everything that local contractors and builders might need. The shelves are packed high, and sometimes you have to move three things just to get to the one you want. It’s a bit of a maze inside. I usually sit at the front desk near the door so I can see people coming in from the street. The traffic outside the gate is always loud, with bikes and rickshaws honking. We don't have a computer system for our stock; we just use a big ledger book and our memory. It works for us. My son helps out in the afternoons after his classes. We know most of our customers by name because they’ve been coming here for twenty years. We don’t do any advertising. If someone needs something, they just know to come to the gate and look for us. It’s a simple way to run a business, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We close up when the sun goes down and start again early the next day. It’s honest work and it keeps us part of the community here.
