Radha Govind Aloo Bhandar

If you head over to Chandi Ki Taksal, you will find Radha Govind Aloo Bhandar. It is exactly what the name suggests. We deal with potatoes in bulk, and our days start much earlier than most people would like. Usually, the trucks arrive when it is still dark out, and we are there to get everything unloaded and sorted. The air always smells a bit like earth and burlap sacks. Our space is functional, mostly just a large area to keep the produce off the ground and organized by size and quality. It is a messy job, and your clothes are usually covered in dust by noon, but that is the nature of the vegetable trade. We don't have a website or an office with air conditioning. We have a wooden table where we sit and settle the accounts with the farmers and the local vendors who come to buy from us. The floor is concrete and often stained from the constant movement of sacks. It is a loud environment with lots of haggling and heavy lifting. Chandi Ki Taksal is a tight area, so getting the vehicles in and out is a daily headache, but we have been doing it so long we can practically do it with our eyes closed. We just focus on getting the produce in and out before it sits too long.
