Punjab Kashmir Goods Carriers is located at 14 Vkia. We are quite near the Milan Cinema, which everyone in this area knows. Being in the Vishwakarma Industrial Area means we are right in the middle of all the heavy work. Our office is a bit of a hangout for drivers who have just come back from long trips up north. We call ourselves Punjab Kashmir because that’s where a lot of our trucks head out to. It’s a long way and the roads can be tricky, especially in the winter months. Our office has some old benches and a water cooler that gets a lot of use. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day. The walls are decorated with photos of our older trucks and some religious pictures. We spend our time checking permits and making sure the cargo is secured. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of grease and dirt involved, and we are usually tired by the end of the shift. But it’s what we do. We don't use any fancy software to track things; we mostly rely on our registers and phone calls. If you need something moved toward the mountains or back down here, you just come and talk to us. We’ll tell you if we have a truck available or if you have to wait a day or two. It’s straightforward and we don’t make excuses for the delays that happen on the road.
