Pandit Kulfi

Pandit Kulfi is located right in the middle of everything at Gangouri Bazar, near Hawa Mahal. We have two units, 110 and 111, which are basically right next to each other. The bazaar is always crowded with people looking at the old buildings or trying to find their way through the narrow streets. It’s very noisy with all the horns and people shouting, but you get used to it after a few years. We spend our time standing behind the big metal containers where we keep everything cold. The tiles on the walls are white and they stay cool even when the sun is beating down on the street outside. Sometimes tourists stop by because they are lost and we have to point them toward the palace. We don’t have much to say, we just keep our heads down and work. The units are small and we have to keep everything organized or we run out of space. In the evenings, the lights from the shops around us make the whole street look different. We usually stay open late because that’s when more people are walking around after the heat goes down. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting, then it gets very busy all at once. We’ve seen a lot of things change in Gangouri Bazar, but our spot stays pretty much the same day after day.
