Monika Foods

Monika Foods is located at 856, Ram Nagar, in the Shastri Nagar area. It’s a residential neighborhood mostly, so we try to keep things from being too disruptive. We do food processing and packing here. It’s a small-scale operation. We started in a tiny room and eventually took over more of the building as we grew. We don't have a big board of directors or anything like that. It’s just us and a handful of local workers. Every morning we check what needs to be made and we get to work. The kitchen area is always busy. We focus on simple items that people use every day. We don't have fancy packaging with lots of colors. We just use what works to keep the food fresh. Sometimes the neighbors come by to buy stuff directly, which is nice. We don't have a big marketing budget. Most of our growth has just been people telling their friends about us. It’s a lot of manual work—sorting, cleaning, and packing. By the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But it’s good to see the finished products stacked up and ready to go. Shastri Nagar is a good place for us. We feel like part of the community here. We just want to keep doing what we’re doing without making it too complicated for ourselves or our customers.
