Mohan Engg. Works

You can find Mohan Engg. Works over at 182A Vkia. It’s an industrial area, so it’s mostly warehouses and other workshops around us. We’ve been in this shed for years. The floor is stained with oil and there’s always a scrap of metal somewhere underfoot. We do a lot of repair work and custom bits for other businesses nearby. It’s the kind of place where you have to yell a bit to be heard over the grinders. We don’t have a front desk or a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you just walk into the back where the work is happening. Usually, one of us will wipe their hands on a rag and come over to see what you need. VKIA is a tough place to work in the summer, but we’re used to it. We keep our machines in good shape because if they break, we don’t eat. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing we are here. Every day is a bit different depending on what breaks or what someone needs built. We just take it as it comes. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big batch, other times it’s quiet. If it rains, the sound on the metal roof is so loud we can't hear anything at all. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of tasks we have for the day.
