Our office for Mandawar Mahuwa Transport Co is located at E 19 in Transport Nagar. If you have ever been to Transport Nagar, you know it is a place that never really sleeps. There is always the sound of engines and people shouting instructions. We have a small corner here. It is not much to look at, just a sturdy room with some old desks and a lot of files. We deal with moving goods mostly through the Mandawar and Mahuwa routes. We have been doing this for years, so we know the shortcuts and the trouble spots on those roads. The walls are covered with old calendars and maps that have seen better days. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. You just walk in and talk to whoever is sitting behind the desk. Usually, there is a pot of tea going. We spend the day talking to drivers and making sure the loads are balanced right. It is a tough business because things can go wrong with the trucks at any time. We just take it as it comes. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to work by candlelight for a bit, but we don't mind. It is a practical job for practical people. Most of our clients are other businessmen from the area who need stuff moved without any drama. We just get on with it and try to keep the wheels turning day after day.
