Our little courier shop is over in Amer on Balanandji Ka Rasta. We are tucked away near the Chandpole Hanuman Ji Ka Mandir, which is a very busy and well-known landmark around here. Working in Amer is interesting because of all the history and the narrow streets. We spend our days taking in parcels and letters from people who need to send things across the city or further away. The shop is usually quite full with bags and boxes waiting to be sorted and sent out. We’ve been at this for a while now. We aren't one of those huge international courier companies with thousands of employees. We are just a local operation doing our best to keep things moving. Sometimes the streets get really crowded with people going to the temple, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays. That can make it a bit tricky to get our deliveries out on time, but we know the shortcuts. Our office is simple, just a counter and some scales and a computer to keep track of the bookings. We don't have any fancy tracking systems that you see on TV. We just use our ledgers and make sure we know where every packet is. People in the neighborhood know us by name, and they often stop for a quick chat when they bring their mail in. It’s a nice way to work, being part of the local community like this.
