At Kisna Handicrafts, we mostly focus on making things the old-fashioned way. Our workshop is at A-78 in Mahesh Nagar, and if you walked inside, you’d probably see wood shavings and bits of fabric all over the floor. It is definitely not a clean, polished showroom. We have a few benches set up where the craftsmen sit and work on their pieces. Some of these guys have been doing this since they were teenagers. Mahesh Nagar is a crowded area, and our neighbors are mostly other small shops and families living their lives. We don’t really have a big sign out front, just the address on the gate. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the middle of the day, so we slow down and have some cold water or lassi from the shop around the corner. We try to finish everything on time, but handmade stuff takes as long as it takes. You can’t really rush it without making mistakes. We don't use many machines here, just hand tools and a lot of patience. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they saw someone else with something we made. We aren't interested in being a giant company. We just want to keep making things that look good and last a long time for the people who buy them. It's a simple life for us here at the shop.
