Our workshop, Jyto Machine Tools, is over in the industrial area near Chandi Ki Taksal. It’s at B-60, which is an old building that has seen a lot of use over the years. The floor is dark from oil spills and the constant movement of heavy machinery. We deal with tools that are meant for real work, like lathes and grinders. The air usually smells like cutting oil and hot metal, which is something you get used to after a couple of days. We don't have any air conditioning, just some large industrial fans that push the warm air around while we work. It’s a noisy place because there is always something being drilled or sanded down. Most of our visitors are men in work clothes who need a specific part or a tool fixed. We have an old wooden desk in the corner where we keep the records and the ledger. It's covered in various metal shavings most of the time. The light inside is a bit dim because the windows are high up and covered in grime from the factory area. We don't spend money on fancy signs or marketing stuff. We just focus on the machines and getting the measurements right. It’s hard work, and your hands are almost always dirty by the end of the shift. That’s just how it is in this line of business in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and do the job.
