If you walk through Ghat Gate Bazar and head toward Loharon Ka Khurra, you will eventually find us at Shop No. 1572. Abdullah Iron Works has been a part of this market for a long time. This area is known for metal work, so the sound of hammers hitting iron is something you hear all day long. Our shop is small and usually quite dark because of the soot and the nature of the work. We have our anvils, our forge, and stacks of iron rods and sheets waiting to be shaped. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the bazaar gets really crowded. There is no air conditioning here, just a couple of old fans that try their best. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are. The floor is usually covered in iron filings and the walls are stained, but that’s what a real iron works looks like. We make things that are meant to last, using the same old methods that have been used in this bazaar for generations. It’s not a clean job, and our hands are always black with grease or dust by the end of the day. But we make sure the things we build are strong and do the job they are supposed to do. That is just how we work.
