Jharokha The Poolside Lounge

If you walk into the Sheraton Rajputana Hotel near the Jaipur railway station, you will find us sitting right by the water. Jharokha is basically just what it says, a poolside lounge on Palace Road. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the noise out on Station Road. We spend most of our time getting chairs ready and making sure the area around the pool is clean for guests who want to sit outside. It is quite nice when the sun starts to set and the air cools down a bit. We serve drinks and some food while people hang out. It isn't a high-pressure kind of place. Some people come here after a long train ride because we are so close to the station, and they just want to sit by the water for an hour. The staff here mostly focuses on keeping the tables cleared and making sure everyone has what they need without being too much in the way. We have been part of the hotel setup for years. It’s a steady routine of opening up, checking the pool tiles, and setting out the menus. We get a mix of travelers and locals who know the shortcut from the main gate. It is a simple place to just be outside for a while without the dust of the city hitting you.
