We operate out of 77-78 Transport Nagar, which is exactly where you’d expect a business like ours to be. It’s a dusty, loud place with trucks moving in and out at all hours. We’ve been here for a long time, dealing with the daily grind of the road. The office is basically just a spot to handle the logs and talk to the drivers when they come back from a trip. There are always stacks of delivery notes and old coffee cups sitting around on the tables. It is not the kind of place you come to see something pretty, but it’s where the real work happens. Most of my time is spent on the phone trying to figure out where a shipment is or why someone is running late on the highway. That’s just the nature of the transport business on the Ludhiyana route. We know the roads well and we know the people who drive them. The walls are covered in maps and old calendars that nobody ever took down over the years. It gets pretty crowded in the afternoons when everyone is trying to get their paperwork signed at once. I’ve worked in Transport Nagar my whole life, so I don’t think I’d know what to do in a quiet office. It’s greasy and noisy, but it is honest work that keeps us moving. We don't have a fancy website or anything, just our name on the board and a phone that never stops ringing. It's just transport.
