Jaihind Engineering Works

We've been at 27 Sansar Chandra Road for a long time. People know us here in Azad Basti Street. It's a busy spot but we like it. The workshop is usually full of machines and grease. My dad started this and now I'm here every morning by eight. We handle a lot of metal work and fixing parts. Sometimes the noise is a bit much, but that's how it goes in engineering. We aren't fancy. There's oil on the floor and tools everywhere. If you come by, you'll probably find me in the back dealing with a lathe or talking to the guys. We just get on with the jobs people bring us. Some days are slow, others we can't keep up with the repairs. It’s just how it is. Most of our neighbors around here have been around as long as we have. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. You just walk in and tell us what's broken or what you need made. It’s practical work. We use old machines because they still work fine if you treat them right. The street outside is always crowded with traffic, so parking can be a bit of a pain, but we manage. Just look for the sign near the corner. We stay until the light goes or the work is finished for the day. That's about it really. Just a local shop doing its thing day in and day out.
