Jai Shankar Transport Service

We’ve been here on Gopalpura Road No 6 for a good while now. Most days start pretty early because that is when the trucks need to get moving before the traffic gets too heavy. Jai Shankar Transport Service isn't a big fancy setup, just a regular office where we handle the bookings and talk to the drivers. People around here know where to find us. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it's quiet enough to sit and have a cup of tea. We mostly deal with getting goods from one point to another without making too much of a fuss about it. The road out front gets dusty in the summer and a bit messy when it rains, but that’s just how things are in this part of town. We keep track of the logbooks and make sure the loading happens right. It takes a lot of coordination to keep things moving. We don't have a giant fleet, but we have enough to get the jobs done. If you walk down Road No 6, you'll see our sign. It's nothing special to look at, just a place where work happens every day. Most of the drivers have been with us for years, so we know who is on the road and where they are at any time. It's a lot of manual work and checking things twice. We just focus on the next trip and making sure the items get where they need to go.
