Our place is located in Phush Ka Bungla which is right near the Sabji Mandi and across from the railway station on Ajmer Road. It is a very crowded spot because of the vegetable market and all the people coming off the trains. There is always a smell of fresh produce and the sound of rickshaws outside. We deal with a lot of boxes and packing tape every single day. The floor is usually covered in bubble wrap or cardboard scraps. We spend our time packing up people's belongings and moving them from one place to another. It is hard work and our backs usually ache by the end of the shift. We have a couple of small trucks parked out front when they aren't on a job. The office part is just a small corner with a table and a ledger book where we write down the addresses. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we keep the big door open to get a breeze. Being so close to the station means we see all kinds of people passing through. We just focus on getting the items wrapped up tight so nothing breaks during the transport. It is a messy job but someone has to do it. The tape dispenser makes a loud screeching noise that you get used to after a while. We go through a lot of tea to stay awake during the late night moves.
